A FUNNY THING HAPPENED to auto dealers on the road to another record year of car sales--the bottom dropped out in October

One of the exceptions was German automaker BMW, whose sales were up 9 percent for the month, while the Big Three automakers were each down more than 30 percent.

Keith Snyder, general manager of BMW of Little Rock, says the only thing holding BMW back is a lack of vehicles.
