Book Description
"Breathing in, I calm my whole body. Breathing out, my whole body is calm. Breathing in, I am blooming like a flower. Breathing out, I feel fresh." Preschool children learn the beauty and power of mindfulness through conscious breathing. Presenting the Buddha's basic teachings in accessible and modern language, the text is drawn from Thich Nhat Hanh's Dharma talks given to young people. Children learn that breathing helps them enjoy deeper relationships with their friends and family: • color illustrations of trees, frogs, crickets, and birds are paired with mindfulness verses (gathas) • the gathas help children direct their excitement and anger in a peaceful direction
