About the Author
Before becoming a braodcaster, Peter Alliss was a professional golfer of considerable ability, like his famous father Percy. During a long and distinguished career he won 23 tournaments including three British PGA championships and the Italian, Spanish (twice), Brazilian and Portuguese Opens. He also represented Great Britain eight times in the Ryder Cup, ten times in the World Cup and three times in the Great Britain versus Europe matches. Alliss has been integrally involved with the structure of golf in the UK, presiding over both the Women's PGA and the British Greenkeeper's Association and serving as Captain of the PGA. Alliss is an accomplished author of more than twenty books and writes regularly for Golf World and Golf International magazines. Alliss and his wife, Jackie, reside in Hindhead in Surrey. They have three children. He also has two other children from his first marriage.
