Book Description
Thad Johnson reopened his law practice in his hometown on the east coast of Florida after his discharge from the army after WWII. He noticed many social injustices of which he was formerly unaware. Subtle suggestions were made to Thad’s friend and client Branch Bennet, who was one of the largest grove owners in the area. Unwittingly, Branch implemented many of the suggestions, and over time, the plight of the grove workers improved. Tragedy struck when Branch’s foreman lost his arm in a tractor accident. In the lawsuit that followed, the manufacturer of the tractor realized the error in his ways for failing to provide a proper guard on the machine.
