FROM THE PUBLISHER

Author Dayna Kay Rivers was born in Northwest Iowa. She studied early childhood education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa and The College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California. She, her family, and their dog Gena now reside in Central Minnesota.

Dayna was awarded a grant from a local women￯﾿ᄑs foundation for her book, ￯﾿ᄑ What a Mother Would Do,￯﾿ᄑ published in December 2002.

SYNOPSIS

Written for our military fathers and families, (though suitable for any away dad), ￯﾿ᄑAll Together Again￯﾿ᄑ connects memories and emotions in a prayerful wish for dad￯﾿ᄑs safe return. By segmenting the prayer into six oversized postcards, (child writes thoughts, feelings on back of card before sending), the dad receives personalized messages of love.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Walter

One of the best things to happen in 2004! These cards from the heart are filled with such love and devotion that no other expression of caring could exceed their message. ...I would be thrilled to have received them from my child. Bless you. — LT. SC (Ret) Editor, China Gunboatman

Susan M. Frey

Children know more than we think they know. When I was a child my dad was in Vietnam. Mom tried to shield us from her worry but we knew. Having a tool, such as this lovely series of postcards, would have helped us express our feelings and stay connected to our Dad. Today as a nurse I see many families dealing with loved ones in the military. We have to help our children express their emotions. foster their hope, and celebrate their special memories of their dad. — RN, MBA, Tacoma, WA

Rolf W. Parsons

This is indeed a new approach, but as a father who has been away (Active Duty during Desert Storm ￯﾿ᄑ91) I can tell you that this is going to work!

Separation is a mystery that children have trouble understanding and these cards can provide a way for kids to be active in its solution. For the dads, these cards conjure up images of home life and help them keep good memories alive, can be kept, cherished, and carried anywhere. — LTC USAR (Ret)
