Robert Montford was troubled for his widowed godmother, whose spirits were in a perilous decline. The only restorative would be news of her long-lost daughter. Then one night at the theater he sees a beauty who uncannily resembles that daughter, and might be convinced to impersonate her! Thus Robert sets in motion a hoax that sweeps him off his feet.
