Edward E. Lawler III is distinguished professor at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and founder and director of the university’s Center for Effective Organizations. Dave Ulrich is professor of business administration at the University of Michigan. He is the author of Why the Bottom Line Isn’t, Results Based Leadership, and over 100 articles. Jac Fitz-enz is the founder of the Saratoga Institute, which has consulted to most of the Fortune 500 companies and many global corporations. James C.
