False! Geronimo's Apache name is Goyahkla. It is said that when he appeared in battle, soldiers in the Mexican Army were terrified. They called out in Spanish to Saint Jerome, shouting "Geronimo!"

He began training as a warrior when he was seven years old.He became a symbol of the fearless warrior. The U.S. Army later nicknamed a fighter helicopter the Apache in his honor.He rode in President Theodore Roosevelt's inaugural parade.
