Library Journal

If you can only purchase one book on cross stitch, this manual by Greenoff, managing director of the Cross Stitch Guild and a popular cross-stitch designer, would be a strong contender. Beginners will find a solid introduction to the technique, but experienced stitchers will not soon outgrow the wealth of information in this manual, which also covers related counted-thread techniques like Hardanger, blackwork, and pulled and drawn thread work. Color illustrations abound, as do stitch diagrams and color charts. Highlights include a linen master class and tips on designing a sampler and personalizing your work. Highly recommended for public libraries. Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.
