Although primarily histopathologic in nature, this book uniquely combines clinical features, including morphology and patient management, with discussion of quandaries in pigmented lesion/melanoma diagnosis, and the use of adjunctive immunoperoxidase, molecular, and ultrastructural techniques to assist in the diagnosis of melanocytic proliferations. Purpose: This book is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to the histopathologic diagnosis of pigmented lesions and encompasses a multitude of topics related to benign and malignant melanocytic proliferations. It is intended for various medical specialists and as such, provides clinical correlation as well as current diagnostic and treatment approaches in the setting of melanoma and other melanocytic neoplasms.
