SYNOPSIS

The king has the perfect idea for the queen's birthday present￯﾿ᄑa new bed! The carpenter's apprentice is chosen to build it, but how big must it be? The king takes off his shoe, measures around the queen (including her crown), and gives the measurements to the apprentice. But when the little apprentice builds the bed, he uses his own feet as a standard, and the bed is too small! How to solve the problem? How measurements became standardized is cleverly told in this amusing fable.
