Gwen has found her own knight in shining armor, and she centers her entire being on his promise. If it takes running away from her betrothed and becoming a mercenary herself, she vows to find her love again. Rhys de Piaget fell for Gwen's charms long before she was fully a woman. She was by far the loveliest creature he had ever seen. She was, also, promised to the son of the man who had adopted him. As a knight of the realm, he could hardly put himself in the position of traitor to the very household that had raised him. Surely, time in France would earn him enough gold to bribe the Lady Gwen for himself...if not honestly, at least without trouble. Unfortunately for both Rhys and Gwen, trouble seems to seek them out.
