Strichart (Florida International U.) and Mangrum (U. of Miami-Coral Gables) offer strategies from elementary to high school level for teaching study skills such as remembering information reading and taking notes, interpreting graphic aids such as tables and diagrams, preparing for tests, spelling new words, learning word meaning, and writing a research paper. Pages are perforated allowing for easy use of the reproducible activities found throughout the book. The enclosed CD- ROM contains a trial version of the Study Skills and Strategies Assessment program, used to help teachers identify students' strengths and weaknesses.
