Book Description
It's as easy as waving bye-bye!

Babies have a lot to say, even before they can actually speak familiar animal names like "dog" and "bunny." Baby Signs are simple gestures that allow babies and toddlers to communicate what they see, what they need, and even how they feel. Research has shown that Baby Signs decrease frustration and tantrums and help your baby talk sooner.

When to begin: When your child starts to wave bye-bye.

How to do it: Show your baby the sign and point to the picture. Always say the word as you make the sign.

Improvise: Make up your own signs -- your baby probably will too!

Baby Signs for Animals

FROM OUR EDITORS

Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn, bestselling authors of Baby Signs and My First Baby Signs, team up again for a winsome board book about animal signs. Using their familiar format of simple directions for parents and sweet baby photos, the authors provide signs for ten animals, including "butterfly," "frog," "mouse," and "cow." It's just right for reading together with your pre-speaking toddler; with research showing they'll speak sooner after learning sign language, tots will be happily learning about animals -- and playing animal pretend games -- in no time.

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Baby signing is easy and natural. Infants and toddlers can learn how to say what they need, what they see, and even what they feel long before their vocal chords are developed enough to let them use actual words. In this revolutionary breakthrough in parent-child communication, parents have a priceless window into their young child's mind and heart. This baby signs board book includes the most popular signs for animals, providing parents a place to begin "talking" with their little ones from the start.
