SYNOPSIS

This is the first book to explore the existence of a configuration of seven pre-Christian sites which formed the route of a pilgrimage of initiation used by Druids, Knights Templar and Christian mystics in their search for true knowledge and enlightenment. Beginning at Compostela in Spain, the voyage of discovery proceeds to Toulouse, Orleans, Chartres, Paris and Amiens, taking us deep into a mysterious world where hidden streams of spirituality flow beneath the surface of European history, profoundly influencing the evolution of Western thought. The journey ends at Rosslyn, where the history of its founders, the Sinclair family, sheds light on the revelations of Rosslyn and their significance for us today.

Tim Wallace-Murphy was born in Ireland and studied medicine at University College, Dublin. His first book, The Mark of the Beast, was written in collaboration with Trevor Ravenscroft. He is the author of An Illustrated Guidebook to Rosslyn Chapel (1993) and The Templar Legacy and the Masonic Inheritance Within Rosslyn Chapel (1994), both published by The Friends of Rosslyn. A popular and fluent speaker, he lectures on the Knights Templar, Rosslyn Chapel and the Sinclairs (founders of Rosslyn).

Marilyn Hopkins was born in Torquay, England. She spent ten years studying various forms of Christianity and esoteric spirituality and has contributed to seminars, talks and lectures including the recent Ecological seminar at Rosslyn organized by the Scottish Ecological Design Association.
