I love this book because it identifies some of the developmental and behavioral characteristics of 6 age-ranges of children in addition to providing sound babysitting advice. Experienced babysitters know that what interests four-year-olds does not necessarily apply to seven-year-olds. Additional chapters wisely discuss What Parents Look for in a Babysitter, Am I Ready to Babysit, How to Start Babysitting, Starting Your First Job, as well as a chapter on safety and games to play with each age group. It is well thought out and organized, although the layout seems more adult-like than young-person oriented. However, it is all one needs to get started in this challenging and rewarding job.
