For more than two decades, kids have delighted in Carle's story of the chameleon who just wasn't satisfied with his life. He went to the zoo and discovered many wonderful animals and decided to wish for parts and traits of each. His wishes came true, and he ended up as a very mixed up creature, but then his old life didn't seem so bad and he wished himself back and that also came true. The board book version retains all of the crazy transformation on each spread and even has tabs to take kids back to their favorites. The collages work particularly well on the sturdy white pages.
